VNG zoekt experts

VNG International, the International Co-operation Agency of the Association of Netherlands Municipalities, is looking for qualified experts to become part of a pool of mid-level or senior level experts who are available (on very short notice) to start advisory missions within a maximum of 14 days.
The advisory missions will be organised in response to requests from the Dutch Foreign Ministry’s Directorate General for International Cooperation (DGIS) and overseas Dutch embassies, permanent representations, and consulate-generals.
Experts within the pool who match a profile for a specific assignment will be contacted and requested to commit themselves for a short period of time in projects to be implemented either in the African, Latin American and Asian region or in the Netherlands itself. T
The aim of the missions will be to provide advise on one of the following policy themes: environment, climate, energy, and water.
Requirements include:
- University degree, post graduate qualifications or equivalent in one or more of the following subjects: Political and social sciences, with a later specialisation in one of the following: Environmental technology and engineering; Integrated water management; Hydrology; Land management; Physics; Civil engineering; Agricultural sciences; Geography; Biology; Energy efficiency; Development studies, etc.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in international donor funded projects and programmes in any of the four themes; climate, environment, energy, and water.
- Practical knowledge of the development and implementation of Dutch development policies.
- Excellent oral and written skills in Dutch and English. Fluency in other languages is an asset.
Knowledge of international agreements, treaties and conventions (including Kyoto/Kopenhagen).
